Not-For-Profit Status

SQLC is registered as a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit entity--distinct from many other retirement community developers. Unlike a for-profit developer, we don’t have to continually look for ways to serve a profit statement. Rather, we can concentrate on the key mission: creating the best possible resident experience along with very reasonable financial terms.

As a not-for-profit, SQLC resources and revenue are reinvested into the senior living communities we operate and the broader communities we serve, where it belongs, in keeping with our commitment to always be an asset to the cities in which our properties are located.

Additionally, we offer residents the peace of mind that comes with stringent financial guidelines, including strict government regulations and reduced operating costs, which translate into lower, stabilized monthly fees; favorable tax credits and exemptions; and no investor dividends. Research also indicates that not-for-profit communities invest more resources into health services than their for-profit counterparts. Taking a resident-centric approach on our part makes all the difference in everything we do.
